this test is rather simple, and usually less precise, but it is useful when there's a demand for an instantaneous result, as well as the need to calculate patients intolerance to some glycolated meals.

1.Fasting glucose measurement: The patient must fast for at least 8 hours before the test. A blood sample is taken to measure the fasting glucose level.
2.Glucose drink: The patient drinks a solution containing 75 grams of glucose.
3.Wait two hours: The patient must remain at rest for two hours.
4.Blood sample taken at two hours: Another blood sample is taken two hours after the glucose drink is consumed.
5.Calculate glucose values: Calculate the glucose values using the following formula:
5.1-Fasting glucose level: level before glucose drink consumption
5.2- 2-hour glucose level: level 2 hours after glucose drink consumption
5.3-If the fasting glucose level is less than 92 mg/dL and the 2-hour glucose level is less than 140 mg/dL, the patient is considered normal.
5.4-If the fasting glucose level is less than 92 mg/dL and the 2-hour glucose level is between 140-199 mg/dL, the patient may have impaired glucose tolerance.
5.5-If the fasting glucose level is greater than or equal to 126 mg/dL or the 2-hour glucose level is greater than or equal to 200 mg/dL, the patient is considered to have diabetes.
6.Interpretation and diagnosis: Based on the calculated glucose values, the doctor can diagnose the patient's glucose metabolism.

we have already seen the panels, but here is a general one:
